Install in 2-4 Days
Most residential installs are 2 to 4 days depending on system size and trenching distance. We work with as little lawn disruption as possible, trenches get backfilled the same day they’re dug, sod is replaced where cut, and the yard is back to walkable the day we finish.

Setup + Training
Once everything’s installed and tested, we walk you through the smart controller, the mobile app, and the seasonal schedules. You’ll know how to override, adjust zones, and shut off for vacation. We also handle annual spring start-up and fall winterize visits if you want them on a service plan.

Irrigation in New Orleans: What Homeowners Ask Us
How long does an irrigation system take to install?
Most residential systems take 2 to 4 days depending on size and complexity. Front and back yard of an average New Orleans lot with 6 zones is typically a 3-day job. We trench, run pipe, install heads, set up the controller, test every zone, and clean up, usually back to walkable by the end of each day.
Will trenching tear up my yard?
We trench narrow (4 to 6 inches wide), backfill the same day, and replace any sod cut during install. Within 7 to 14 days the trench lines are barely visible, and within a month they’re gone entirely. If we have to cross a featured planting bed, we’ll discuss the path and minimize impact.
What’s a ‘smart controller’ and is it worth it?
A Wi-Fi-connected controller that checks local weather forecasts, skips watering when rain is expected, and adjusts run times by season. Worth it for nearly every install, most of our clients see water bills drop 15-30% compared to a basic timer, and the lawn does better because watering is more accurate. The cost difference at install is small relative to the long-term savings.
Do I need a backflow preventer?
Yes, by code in all New Orleans parishes. We install an anti-siphon backflow preventer with every system, it prevents irrigation water from cross-contaminating your home’s potable water supply. The unit is part of the standard install and gets tested annually.
What about my existing flower beds, do I have to redo them?
No. We can run drip irrigation lines through existing beds without disturbing the plants. Drip is more efficient than spray for beds anyway, it delivers water directly to the root zone, reduces fungal disease from wet foliage, and uses less water. If you have a particularly tight bed, we may recommend hand-watering for one or two specialty plants and irrigating the rest.
